Why MoneyBert exists

A straightforward answer, from a real person, about what this site is and isn’t.

What this site is

MoneyBert is a set of free calculators and plain-language guides for everyday financial decisions — budgeting, debt payoff, mortgages, retirement, and taxes. No signup walls, no forced newsletter, no fake urgency. Just tools that show their work.

Who’s behind it

Kris

I’ve spent years thinking about money the way most people don’t get to — running an e-commerce business day to day, and separately diving deep into stock market trading, where you learn fast that “close enough” math isn’t good enough when real money is on the line. That obsession with getting the numbers actually right, instead of hand-waved, is why MoneyBert exists. I built it because I kept looking for calculators that showed their work and used real formulas, and kept being disappointed by tools that didn’t.

How the calculators get built

Every calculator is built around standard, publicly documented formulas, and every figure that depends on current law or policy (tax brackets, contribution limits) is sourced and dated. The full breakdown is on our Methodology page.

How this site makes money

Some pages include affiliate links to financial products; if you click through and sign up, we may earn a commission at no extra cost to you. This never affects which numbers our calculators show you.

Nothing on this site is personalized financial, legal, or tax advice. It’s a starting point for your own thinking, not a replacement for a licensed professional when the stakes are high.
